" Hi guys. I'm here in Dallas, Jason's lovely hometown haha, and just wanted to mention how amazing the olympics were! I watched a lot of the track and field stuff, swimming, diving, gymnastics, and whatever else I could get a glimpse of while we're out doing' our thing. I wish I could have watched more! But it was amazing to see stuff like michael phelps. That's just crazy! I was only able to watch a small bit of the closing ceremony since our Houston show was going at the same time, but from what I saw it was really cool. So just wanted to ramble a bit on that haha.

On a side note I just wanna thank everyone sooooo much for your support with Crush! I was shocked to see it number 1 on iTunes and then I about died when I saw it number 2 on the hot 100 lol. Someone told me during the Sunrise, Florida aftershow about the billboard debut but I thought they were mistaken and didn't believe them. But wow! I'm just ecstatic to know that you guys like the song and thanks so much for helping make Crush do what I thought was the unthinkable!

I'm still working on the album and we're all trying really hard to do our best. Well we're at the venue now so talk to you guys later! "

The episode of 'The View' with guests David Cook and David Archuleta will be shown, again, on Monday, August 25th.  If you missed it the first time, or just want to see it again, be sure to tune in!  Check your local listings for times and channels.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

It sounds like moms have a “Crush” on David Archuleta.

The “American Idol” runner-up’s first single, “Crush,” bowed at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 on Thursday — a spot higher than the debut of “Idol” season seven winner David Cook’s “The Time Of My Life” in June — and in fact, the song was the biggest chart debut in 18 months, according to Billboard.

So who’s helping the 17-year-old singer make such a splash?

“Moms [are] saying, ‘I love your song!’” David revealed to Access Hollywood‘s Billy Bush in an interview for “The Billy Bush Show.”

“I really was not expecting the older audience to be able to relate to it, because I was like, ‘Oh, is ‘Crush’ too immature?’ but I think the way the song talks about a crush, it’s in a mature way that all ages are able to relate to,” he told Billy.

Archuleta’s own mom has been at the family home in Utah with his four siblings since his “Idol” success, but his dad, Jeff Archuleta, has put his business on hold while he joins David on the “American Idols Live!” tour.

“I still need a guardian with me,” David, a minor, explained.

Jeff came under fire from the press for reportedly being too watchful during the “Idol” season, when he was reportedly banned...

He's currently holding onto the number 6 spot on iTunes top ten most downloaded.  That's three less than yesterday!  : /  With everyone's help, let's boost 'Crush' back to number one!

New photos added to the gallery, as well - from the first of August when David premiered 'Crush.'

Here's an exsclusive interview with David from the Los Angeles Times. They mainly talk about "Crush" but it's a cool interview. I'll post a few paragraphs but you can read the rest by going to the Articles/Interviews section of the site.

All my friends keep saying, ‘You should try to hook up with Shawn Johnson,’” confessed “American Idol” runner-up David Archuleta with a giggle.

It was 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, and Archuleta had managed to squeeze in a quick chat between signing autographs and walking a press line in Tampa, Fla.

Our topic of conversation –- Archuleta’s real-life crushes – was prompted by the outlandish success of his first single, “Crush.” Not only was it the top-selling digital download of the week, but “Crush” also hit No. 2 on the U.S. pop singles chart today; the best chart debut in 18 months, according to Billboard.

The top ten American Idols were on Larry King Live, again.  Unfortnately I mixed the dates up - they were on last night, not tonight.  In the three parts of this video Larry King doesn't really know who he is talking to...so the camera man sometimes has the wrong face on camera when the question is directed to some else.

E! News recently posted this about David Archuleta vs. David Cook in iTunes sales.

David Cook topped David Archuleta in their American Idol showdown, but now the little D has gotten some extra-large revenge.

The 17-year-old Archuleta's "Crush" has debuted at No. 2 on the Hot 100 singles chart, besting the No. 3 opening of Cook's "The Time of My Life" in June.

In fact, Archuleta just netted the biggest bow since Fall Out Boy's "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race" also debuted at No. 2 back in January 2007.

Archuleta is the first runner-up to outperform the reigning champ since the head-to-head matchup between Clay Aiken's "This Is the Night" and season-two victor Ruben Studdard's "Flying Without Wings." Aiken topped Studdard with what became the best-selling single of 2003.

"Crush" is the biggest bow by an Idol contestant for a song never performed on the show—in comparison, his show single "Imagine" actually underperformed with a No. 36 debut. Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone" is the only other nondebut single by an Idol contestant to reach as high as the No. 2 spot.

While Archuleta now claims the higher Hot 100 debut, Cook's "The Time of My Life" did better in the download department, selling 236,000 digital copies in its opening week to 166,000 copies for "Crush." Cook also set a SoundScan-era record that first week, when 11 of his songs cracked the Hot 100, topping Miley Cyrus' record of six. Only the Beatles have charted more songs at once with 14 spots back in '64.
